Recorded on september 4, 2020 on an ipad. Some parts or maybe even all of it may sound like just noise to some people. It was recorded in a government fenced in square. So there are buildings on 3 sides of my location and a gated entrance at the front. It is mainly drums that are played for a dragon dance. These dances are performed at special occasions, such as a new business opening. There is a troop of about 8 people there to perform the dance. For the first half of the recording, the two dragons (four people) were preparing and they were actually performing the dance for the second half of this recording.

As usual. . A triple osc was used. I played with the different possibilities. . . Sine, triangle, saw, square waves were used here. It may cause damage on high volume (maybe?). Effects: phaser, reverb. After recording, the entire soundshape was inverted.

I took this recording from my room in a beautiful casa on the main square in santa clara. It was warm and not windy so i could keep the windows open during the storm, and eavesdrop on this little party, which seemed to warm up as the storm did. This is an edited version of a longer clip i have also uploaded to freesound.

For my 100th sound on freesound, a long one: me building my bed with wooden strips. Noises of screws, metal squares, screwdriver, moving the wood and assembling it. And sometimes my breath. Recorded in stereo with h5n, in my room in the attic by a sunny autumn day. Little cut in edit. For the anecdote, it was so hot that i finished in my underwear.

4ch surround atmo recording of the terrace of a café on the freiheitsplatz (freedom square) in graz/austria. About 50-60 peole aged 20-40 are sitting at tables, drinking and talking in different languages, some of them ostensibly in austrian dialect german. . . In the background are the sounds of a peaceful european city in summer, with little traffic in the immediate vicinity. Recorded with a zoom h2these are the rear channels of a 4ch surround recording, mics set to 120° dispersion.

Salvation army is playing at kvilletorget, göteborg. They play 6. 00 pm every wednesday during the summer on the square just outside my house. I put the recorder in my open window. This record is quite amusing: a dog start to yell in the beginning. At 16. 44 do the ice cream truck passes by. Recorded early summer 2015 with a zoom h1 and edited with audacity. Jemaa el-fnaa is one of the biggest squares in africa, and is one of the most vibrant places i have ever visited. Each time of day brings a very different energy, and one will find snake charmers, musicians, dancers and stands selling pretty anything you could think of. Although busy during the day, jemaa el-fna is swarmed with people at night and can quickly become overwhelming. This recording is from february, 2020, using a tascam dr-05x.

My mother in the kitchen just around the corner from my closed bedroom door getting some ice from a square ice bucket in the freezer which is right at the entrance to the kitchen. You can hear them drop into her big glass and pop when they hit the water. I was recording out the window at the time. You can hear an american robin, red cardenal and mourning dove as well.

This is my first upload: a short walk between the stalls of the vismarkt in groningen, netherlands. Is was a splendid and sunny saturday morning, about 9. 30 am, may 7th 2016. In the first part of the recording, a garbage truck is already cleaning up. Fish crates are being piled up and money is exchanging hands. As the name of the market square suggests, the stalls are filled with fresh north sea and wadden sea fish. But i also passed stalls where cheese, meat and spices were sold. Business was thriving at the time of the recording. The groningen vismarkt is broadly recognized as one of the finest food markets in the country. I used an iphone with a zoom iq5. As said, this is my first recording, so please bear with me. . . I intend to learn.

This is an ambient recording of the late night crowd of kids at 14th street unions square nyc. It's where the market usually is during the day. There is some traffic present but it's mostly about the voices and energy of teens. You can hear the clack and roll of skate boards, voices and gritty near by footsteps. The file contains walla quality voices and up close stuff that you can understand. It is a tad left heavy so you may have to adjust if you are using it for stereo.

It's recess time at san lorenzo de el escorial's real colegio alfonso xii's boarding school, madrid, spain. Children are playing games, mainly soccer, on escorial monastery's front esplanade, apparently used as a schoolyard. High pitched voices blend with bypasser's conversations. Putting aside the fact that we're on a world heritage site, this could also be your regular park where youngsters gather any afternoon. Recorded with a sony pcm-d50'stereo mics with wind muff.

For this sound, i generated a square wave at a frequency of 440 hz and an amplitude of 0. 80 and a duration of 1 second. I choosed the following effects:1- wahwah with frequency f=1. 5hz , amplitude= 70 %, resonance = 2. 5 and offset frequency = 30%2. Repeat3- compressor (x2)4- fade in (half of the sound)5- fade out ( the other half of the sound)6 - phaser with 10 phases7 - paulstretch with the stretching factor=5 and resolution = 0. 258- echo with 1 second delay , decay factor=0. 59 - cut (to arrange the sound). After all this effects, the sound is like a sound recorded in space with echos.

The sound is not as clean as in the virtual one. To some extent i blame my method of recording. . . Different oscillators sound different. Here i use a self oscillating filter. That produces a clean sinus wave. The cleanest sinus in my rack. But i guess the real thing is not perfect and that is what you are hearing? in neither of the patches i use a quantizer. . . (that's art :-)and, i almost forgot, i use a cheap analog delay pedal. Noisy. . .

This is my attempt to emulate the sound of the harmony 64 chimes that can be heard on some ice cream trucks. I used a single note from a low-quality recording from a demo of the chimes for the base synth then cleaned up the audio using audacity and set the starting pitch to "c". (in particular, i used the first note of the "can-can" chime from http://www. Microminiatures. Com/tunes. Html). I then composed a short variation of a well-known song (bicycle built for two in this case). This sound was created as follows:. -zynaddsubfx free (and insanely amazing) software synthesizer generated simple g tone using a sine-wave adsynth engine- creative sbs 250 speakers played it back distorting the sound naturally and adding some interesting stereo phasing effects (is that caused by analog signal cable being longer for one speaker?)- i was manually changing the volume using the speaker's potentiometer (whitch is dirty and added some interesting noises on the right speaker, and also at peak loudness during the 54th second the right speaker is quiet)- the output was captured by zoom h2's rear mics- and recorded via usb into audacity free audio editing program- i exported the recording as 16-bit flac.

Td was performing slide through octaves with "slide" button pressed in program, and subsequent cs were played, in octave -1 and 0, and higher c in octave 0 and +1, back and forth. Program takes 7 16th notes and the space between notes takes 9 rests. Tempo of the td-3 was set to maximum and the volume control was set to high amount, to let zoom h-1 with rec level setting to 37, be driven up to -6db. Sound recorded in 96khz and 24bits. Trimmed and saved in flstudio edison, what made sound 32bit. No amplify, no normalisation. "tune" knob of td-3 was set to maximum as well as "cut off", "envelope" and "accent". "resonance" and "decay" was set to one o'clock. "waveform" swicth was set to square. No distortion. Zoom h-1 was plugged by a cable, td-3 output to line in. Cable was named vitalco - 1/8 inch trs to 1/4 ts, male to male, 3m.
